The collections were assembled over 40 years by the owner of the POLA Group, big cosmetic company in Japan, Suzuki Tsuneshi (1930-2000). It has about 400 excellent European paintings along with many modern Japanese oil paintings and Nihonga paintings. Before this museum open, all works were recognized as private collection for long time.
