Hashimoto Gaho: Dragon and Tiger
" Dragon and Tiger "    1895    pair of six-fold screens    each 160.5 x 369.5       Seikado Bunko Art Museum

There was no Tiger in Japan, artists in Edo-period painted to imagine Tigers. So they are just like funny Cats. After the Meiji Restoration, Tigers came to Japanese Zoo for the first time. Hashimoto Gaho was first to sketch the real Tigers, so this artwork has a reality. Well, Dragon is a creature of fancy, Nobody watched it and nobody know whether it has reality or not.
